Prison In-Reach
API RISE Prison In-Reach program provides support to incarcerated peoples to help them prepare for reentry into society. These programs often include counseling, connecting people to resources, and research. The goal is to reduce recidivism by equipping individuals with the tools and support needed for successful reintegration into our communities.
Member Community Care
Member Community Care at API RISE is multifaceted, involving work both with system-impacted individuals and the broader community.
For system-impacted members only, we provide trauma-informed reentry case management services. This may include assistance with jail/prison/detention release pickups, as well as comprehensive screenings and assessments for housing, psychosocial needs, employment. We also host twice-a-month support group check-ins for our members.
For both system-impacted and non-system-impacted individuals, we offer monthly gatherings to help foster community; we also provide workshops in partnership with local LA organizations focusing on promoting cultural understanding and solidarity between people with marginalized identities.

Stop The Hate Rising Activist Program (IE)
The Stop The Hate Rising Activist Internship program aims to foster solidarity and prevent violence between marginalized groups in the Inland Empire. It achieves this by providing access to mentorship, equipping youth participants with leadership skills, and promoting cross cultural understanding and healing.
La vs Hate Program (LA)
The LA vs Hate Program by API RISE is designed to educate and empower youth and adults to create anti-hate, discrimination, and violence messaging through video production and social media. The program combines hands-on learning in filmmaking with lessons on advocacy and community engagement, resulting in culturally sensitive video content that serves as educational resources. It aims to build skills in storytelling and media creation while promoting empathy and understanding.
API RISE advocates for the inclusion of Asian Pacific Islanders in justice reform discussions, addressing the lack of disaggregated data that hinders the development of culturally appropriate resources. We participate in bi-weekly coalition meetings, organize local and state advocacy efforts, and plan to expand advocacy training as we continue to increase our capacity. API RISE was also active in supporting the HOME Act (AB 1306- Carrillo), a bill aimed to stop the transfer of people from jail or prison into ICE detention centers, preventing them from facing a second, unwarranted sentence.
We continue to explore our own social enterprise program to provide in-house income and job training opportunities.
